Straw Marquetry Shines in KOKET’s New Celine Designs

One of KOKET’s most notable features is its love for materials of all kinds. From brass, mirror, and wood to gold, mother-of-pearl, natural gemstones, and feathers, KOKET’s luxury home decor designs incorporate exquisite materials that elevate each piece into a statement of sophistication. However, one material KOKET hasn’t explored in its designer furniture creations—until now—is straw. Now, the versatility, craftsmanship, and savoir-faire of applying straw through the technique of marquetry shine in KOKET’s new designs for Summer 2025.

A New Texture of Luxury: Discover the Timeless Art of Straw Marquetry

Similarly to wood marquetry, straw marquetry is created using thin strips of straw. Wheat or oat straw is split, soaked in water, then ironed and sometimes dyed. As a meticulous and time-consuming craft, this technique makes the perfect new luxurious finish for KOKET’s couture home decor collection.

Introducing Celine Straw Collection

In honor of the art of straw marquetry, KOKET’s founder Janet Morais and her team have designed a new series of home furnishings featuring this striking finish. To give you a taste of what’s to come, we are delighted to introduce the Celine Armoire and Celine Cabinet.

Each piece features intricate straw marquetry forming a radiant sunburst pattern on its doors, crafted with precision and artistry. In addition, Chicly curved bespoke cast brass handles open to reveal spacious interiors in high-gloss black lacquer.
