Why KOKET Loves the Butterfly: The Butterfly Chandelier, Sconce, Armoire and Room Divider

At KOKET, a design begins with a symbol. For the butterfly, that symbol is transformation. The motif has lived in the house’s design language since 2012, when the Mademoiselle Armoire and Euphoria Screen debuted in KOKET’s original Guilty Pleasures collection. Today it takes flight across four designs: a butterfly chandelier, a butterfly wall sconce, a butterfly armoire and a butterfly room divider.

This season, the butterfly is on the runway too. Roger Vivier’s Spring 2027 collection brings butterflies to shoes and handbags, proof that fashion and interiors often speak the same language. For KOKET, the butterfly has always said something about the KOKET woman. She evolves. She reinvents. She is never still.

Each piece in the collection is handcrafted in Portugal and made to order, so no two are ever quite the same, and each can be shaped to the interior it was made for.

Butterfly Chandelier: Nymph

Some pieces are designed to be looked at. The Nymph was designed to be looked up at. Introduced in 2013, the Nymph butterfly chandelier gathers a flurry of metal butterflies into one dramatic, overblown silhouette: suspended in perfect harmony, caught just before they scatter.

Each butterfly is shaped in filigree, the lace-like metalwork at the heart of Portuguese jewelry. Wire becomes lace. Light becomes shadow. When the Nymph is lit, light slips through every wing and scatters soft silhouettes across the ceiling and walls. Discover the craft in The Art of Filigree in Luxury Lighting.

At 28 inches high and 33 inches wide, the Nymph commands a dining room, an entryway or a bedroom. In an interior by Casa Bures, it reigns over the room like a jewel suspended in air.

Choose gold-plated or copper-plated filigree, or commission the Nymph in silver or another custom finish.

Butterfly Wall Sconce: Nymph Sconce

Added to the Nymph family in 2016, the Nymph butterfly wall sconce brings the drama down to eye level. Filigree butterflies cluster as if caught mid-flight. Lit, they cast a cloud of wings across the wall. Unlit, they remain pure sculpture.

Hang a pair to frame a bed, a mirror or a console, or let a line of them lead the way down a hallway. Paired with the Nymph Chandelier, the story moves from ceiling to wall: one flight of butterflies through the room.

Like the chandelier, the sconce comes in gold-plated or copper-plated filigree, with other finishes made to order.

Butterfly Armoire: Mademoiselle

The Mademoiselle butterfly armoire began with a gate: an Art Nouveau metalwork design that inspired its doors. Steeped in admiration for the French decorative arts, it first launched in pink in 2012 as part of KOKET’s original Guilty Pleasures collection. A single filigree metal butterfly spreads its wings across both doors, backed in fabric, and opens onto a gleaming metal-leaf interior.

Behind the wings lies a private world: nine antique mirror drawers and a hanging rod, made for the rituals of dressing. In a bedroom or dressing room, it is a wardrobe worthy of couture. In a living room or entryway, it is a statement no guest walks past. Its Art Nouveau spirit comes alive in an interior by Tatyana Mironova Design.

Any color, any interior. The Mademoiselle can be made in any color, and every color tells a different story. White is romantic. Black is graphic. Plum is decadent. Teal is serene. Pink, the original, is unapologetically feminine. The fabric behind the wings, the finishes and even the size can be customized, so the same butterfly can feel at home in a Parisian apartment or a contemporary penthouse.

Butterfly Room Divider: Euphoria

Born of KOKET’s fascination with all things wild, from exotic wood textures to the silhouette of a butterfly, the Euphoria butterfly folding screen captures the mystery and seduction that lie behind a butterfly’s wings. The Mademoiselle’s 2012 sibling, it scatters gold-plated filigree butterflies across four lacquered panels, as if they had only just landed.

Standing nearly 7 feet tall, the four-panel Euphoria divides a room without closing it off. Open it wide across an open-plan space, angle it behind a bed or sofa, or fold it into a corner that needs softening. Because it folds, it moves as the room does.

The Euphoria comes in four versions: cream lacquer, cream lacquer with a polished brass frame, black lacquer, and black lacquer with a polished brass frame, each scattered with gold-plated filigree butterflies.

Custom Butterfly Furniture and Lighting

No two KOKET interiors are the same, and no two butterflies need to be. Every piece in the KOKET Butterfly Collection is made to order by artisans in Portugal, so each can be tailored to the room it was made for.

Size, finish, color and fabric can all be tailored, from a butterfly Nymph Chandelier in silver to a Mademoiselle Armoire in a shade all your own.

To create a butterfly piece of your own, contact the KOKET team or visit a KOKET showroom partner.

From Runway to Room

The butterfly moves easily between fashion and interiors. At KOKET, it has always belonged. It simply keeps evolving, like the woman it was made for. Explore the KOKET Butterfly Collection and discover more ways to decorate with butterflies on Love Happens Magazine.
