Dress Your Home with the Gucci Home Decor Collection
This fall, Alessandro Michele will invade your home – Gucci is releasing the Gucci home decor line. Responsible for all of collections of the italian fashion house, product categories and the company’s global brand image, Alessandro’s unique understanding and appreciation of the historical codes of the house, combined with his contemporary sensibility, has created a compelling new narrative for the brand.
The unique Gucci home decor collection will include pillows, plates, upholstered chairs and other furnishings featuring the familiar design motifs—tigers, snakes and Garden florals.
“Gucci is pleased to announce the launch of Gucci Décor, an eclectic collection of items with which customers can dress their own spaces (…) The idea is not to prescribe a particular decorative look, but to provide elements that allow for living spaces to be customized.”
Your walls can be covered now with printed wallpapers with the iconic patterns from the latest collections of the fashion brand. There are also scented candles, metal trays, and small porcelain pieces by Richard Ginori, a Florentine company established in 1735, that now belongs to Gucci.
It was not the first time that a fashion house plunges in the interior designer world. Brands as Ralph Lauren, Fendi or Roberto Cavalli created huge and lucrative home branches.
So is Alessandro Michele looking expand Gucci across a multitude of fronts? It’s too early to say, and certainly Michele has significant aesthetic and stylistic differences from these American counterparts. But for a designer with such complete autonomy when it comes to the company’s store concepts, it’s difficult to imagine that Michele isn’t at least a little bit interested in seeing a visually cohesive, and horizontally integrated, Gucci expanding it’s aesthetic territory.
Gucci Décor will be launched this September, online at gucci.com and at select flagship stores.
