If there’s one individual having great time at Couture Fashion Week, it’s Celine Dion. Yes, you heard us right. The Heart Will Go On singer has gone full throttle into the high fashion land, and has started her own hashtag #celinetakescouture as a result of it.
While the street style celebs pour over the ideal pictures for their Instagram, Dion has been spinning about, hanging herself over cars and pulling for the cameras. Her couture week frolics have not caused gasps of “quelle horreur”, but rather earnt her a front row place beside Anna Wintour and Hamish Bowles.
For Celine Dion is really a high fashion nerd. She knows the heaviness of Versace’s beaded dresses and how Giambattista Valli’s chiffon straps really sit on the shoulders since she has worn couture looks solely amid her shows throughout the previous five years.
Dion doesn’t simply cull her stage outfits straight from the runway, she educates the ateliers to adjust them for the stage, US Vogue reports. Velcro boards are added to bodices to permit the vocalist’s ribcage to extend, and to encourage snappy outfit changes. Elastic is added chiffon to stay away from the fragile texture tearing, and her shoes are all refitted with metal shanks for better support. Consistently detail is considered.
Of her couture fixation, she says: “The clothes follow me; I do not follow the clothes.” May the Canadian composer keep on bringing her pizzazz for the craft to front rows to come.
