Cabana is known for featuring high-style interior design and it has produced a limited edition box set which includes a series of new Gucci chairs designed by Allessandro Michele, the creative director for the house.
Team up with the editor in chief of the magazine, Mondadori Sartogo, Alessandro Michele designed three different fabric covers for a collector’s edition box set using Gucci’s coral snake and floral Herbarium fabric, each with a different animal figurine hand-embroidered on the seats, often incorporated into his collections. Outside the box set, Michele repurposed three other Gucci prints for the issue.
Extending the Gucci aesthetic to a collection of bespoke chairs, the six limited-edition chairs is exclusively available on online marketplace 1stDibs. Launched last week, the content for the spring/summer 2016 issue was also a collaborative effort to curate the photography. Shot by photographer Guido Taroni, the images capture Michele’s home city of Rome.
The international Cabana magazine editor in chief Martina Mondadori Sartogo and Gucci’s Alessandro Michele share the same passion for interiors. Mondadori Sartogo explains. “It’s the same love for the past and for those objects and aesthetics that are clearly inspired by the classics and Italian art history”. As he puts it, ‘It’s like being part of a tribe, a tribe of those who love beautiful things.’
The new opulent Cabana magazine, was born in Milan and Mondadori Sartogo founded last year, which gives a new concept to the idea of a design publication. It is mainly focus on interior design, lifestyle, buildings and luxury world, all featured with an amazing photography and the feel of exclusivity.
