For her two-bedroom apartment home in London, Knightsbridge, Taylor Howes founder and chief executive Karen Howes selected classic-contemporary pieces for a home that serves as a perfect showcase for the company’s own designs and collections, as well as chic bespoke pieces.
In the entrance hall, the wallpaper is Maze grasscloth by Thibaut, while the flooring is an Estremoz herringbone marble. The bespoke door is made of dark walnut with glass and polished brass, and the artwork on the left is Re-entry by Dennis Bowen (1962).
The living room features a colorful bespoke polished cotton rug, and the floors are natural oiled grey oak herringbone. The curtains are Aplomb by Dedar, and the trim is Grand Galon Athenee by Clarence House. The coffee table and perspex plinth are both bespoke.
The sofa is from Taylor Howes’ own collection, while the cushions are in Hollywood fabric by Donghia and Poulette by Dedar with buckles. The side tables are by Porta Romana. The walls are painted in Farrow & Ball.
The dining area features the Abbott metal dining table by Bernhardt, while the faux leather chairs are part of the Taylor Howes collection. The tableware and napkin ring are by L’Objet, while in the background, the side table is by Porta Romana and the tabletop pieces are by Anna Torf.
Facing from the living room to the kitchen and dining area, the chandelier is The Brook by Wired Custom Lighting. The mirrored doors and kitchen cabinet are bespoke. The kitchen tap is by Quooker, in brass; the oven is Gaggeneau and the dishwasher is Miele.
In the master bedroom, the carpet is a silk viscose and the wallpaper is Stablewood grasscloth by Thibaut. The shoe shelves and mirrored cabinet are bespoke. The sconce is by Taylor Howes for The Urban Electric Co.
In the second bedroom, the wallpaper is East Gate grasscloth by Thibaut. The wardrobe is a bespoke piece with a lacquered frame with inset linen and bronze fretwork. The lighting is by Taylor Howes for The Urban Electric Co. The bed linens are by The White Company and the cushions are by Hermes and Sahco.
In the main bathroom (left), the walls and vanity are Tracertino Tiziano marble. In the ensuite bath (right), the walls and sink are bespoke Calcite. The vanity features a Calcite top with a silver lacquer drawer and an inset antiqued mirror with a shagreen handle.
