The most amazing and memorable works of the Masterpiece London fair
Gallery of David Gill
Famous gallery owner David Gill provided wonderful works for the booth that conveyed atmosphere of the Edward James private library – one of the most eccentric and interesting twentieth-century collectors of surrealist art Edward James.
As a background for the installation were old tables littered with countless books. Among those things, you can find American artist Michele Oka Doner exhibits, surreal furniture by designer Mattia Bonetti, new items of Barnaby Barford zoo ceramic collection and conceptual objects by Sebastian Errazuriz.
Factum Arte and Lisson Gallery
Work series titled “Five stages of Maya Dance” by the Serbian performance master Marina Abramović, shows the viewer artist’s emotions at the moment of her rapprochement to death.
The expression on the faces in her works froze in plastic alabaster.
To create naturalism and volume they used advanced 3D scanning and CNC milling technology. This was executed by Spanish fabricators Factum Arte.
R & Company
Three Unique Vine illuminated sculptures in brass with hand-blown glass globes are works of Modern glass artist Jeff Zimmermann.
In addition, visitors can see another work series titled “Crystal Cave,” also presented at the R & Company booth.
Clean crystals fill organically shaped glass balls and create a fascinating impression of the refraction of the rays and the play of light.
The Fashion Show at Peter Fetterman Gallery
Selection of photo images depicting the elegant fashion of the past century, in opposition to the modern, fast-changing fashion.
Thanks to the emotional photographer’s works, fashion was presented as a piece of art. Among the author’s names, you can find Lillian Bassman, Len Prince and Jerry Schatzberg.
One of the most impressive works at Masterpiece London 2018 was the installation of the “State of Being features” by Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota, collaborating with contemporary Blaine South art gallery.
Bright red threads chaotically braided the booth and contained about 5000 keys. The artist’s thought was to show an exploration of human relationships and belonging to the fairy public.
