Live Colorfully: KOKET’s 2016 Color Report
The New Year is almost here, meaning that it is time to start thinking about the dreamy new color palette it will bring. KOKET got a head start for 2016 by revealing our exquisite collection of pieces modeled in the trendiest colors for the upcoming year.
Interiors for 2016 will see bright colors inspired from nature as predicted by Pantone. Always the trendsetter, the luxury design brand already has a new collection available that combines the most exquisite fabrics with our always daring and empowering design.
KOKET is revealing a softer side, leaving behind the darker colors that were trends in previous years, and showcasing a new vision of the more sensitive and delicate cosmopolitan woman. Taking a cue from Pantone’s Spring 2016 Color Report, we collected our favorite colors for the upcoming season, and added our own predictions from trendsetter and KOKET Creative Director, Janet Morais.
The color of the tranquil sky is one of the hottest trends for 2016. Serenity is a soft color with a calming effect and it will be present in the most curated interiors, both in details or in more expressive elements, like walls and furniture pieces. The Serenity will be a trend especially in city homes, creating a relaxing and cozy ambiance in any room.
Feminine, soft and innocent, Rose Quartz will turn any room into a more sophisticated and exquisite space. This calming pale pink is a welcoming color for home interiors because it creates a relaxing and lighthearted ambiance, the perfect touch to end the day in a good mood.
“Of course a color like Rose Quartz, inspired by gems, couldn’t be left out of the KOKET collection. This soft pink will be the color of the Summer, not only for homes, but also in fashion. Rose Quartz is feminine and delicate, but combined with exclusive design, it can create a strong presence in curated homes.
Earth tones have earned their place in home interiors, and have become a color palette staple of the most acclaimed interior designs. Buttercup is a predicted color for 2016, channeling vibes of sunlight and energy into the most exquisite home interiors.
“Yellow is always a color that brings energy to a home. In the next year Buttercup will be in luxury interior design projects, especially applied on upholstery designs, just like Kelly Sofa, to let the energy of sunshine into the rooms,” says Morais.
Brown never goes out of style. This color, considered a neutral tone, is ever-present in the most gorgeous projects of top interior designers. In 2016, a new shadow of brown – Iced Coffee – will be prevalent not only in coffee shops, but also luxury interior design. Always a classy color, it can also give a dramatic touch to rooms while being very easy to combine with other colors.
2016 brings a beautiful neutral into the mix with Lilac Grey. This color combines the sobriety and neutrality of grey with the softness and subtly of purple hues. As it is a gentle, but yet glamourous color, it can be applied not only to upholstery pieces, but can adorn larger furniture pieces and even walls.
Getting away from neutrals and ice cream shades, 2016 will also bring some strong and powerful colors, such as Fiesta. This orange with red tones will bring a new life to home interiors and, as the name implies, adds vibrancy and energy to any interior design project. Being a vivacious color, it will be seen most in small upholstery pieces, such as chairs, armchairs and stools.
“Every women need that strong lipstick that make them feel powerful and sensuous. The ‘Fiesta’ color will be that lipstick, but for the home. It will be easy to apply and the difference will be immediately noticed.”
