High Point Market 2017: What are the Style Spotters Most Excited for?
The Fall edition of High Point Market 2017 is just around the corner and a fabulous line up of interior designers and home fashion leaders are ready to tour the show to find the latest trends and top new styles!
We checked in with this year’s four amazingly talented High Point Style Spotters, design duos Anishka Clarke and Niya Basc of Ishka Designs, David Ecton and Lance Jackson of Parker Kennedy Living, Ron Woodson and Jamie Rummerfield of Woodson & Rummerfield’s House of Design, and Tami Ramsay and Krista Nye Nicholas of Cloth & Kind, along with Style Spotter Emeritus Michelle Jennings Wiebe of Studio M, to see what they are most looking forward to this market. Here is a little bit about each of these top interior designers and the inside scoop on what they are most excited about for High Point!
Brooklyn-based interior design duo Anishka Clarke and Niya Basc of Ishka Designs specialize in the creation of beautiful, casually sophisticated and minimalist vacation properties, restaurants and residences around the world.

Inside Anishka and Niya’s World: With a BA in Accounting and Economics and an MBA from Stern Business School at NYU, Anishka began her career in the world of finance. After 10+ years working in both her home land of Jamaica and on Wall Street she quit her job to follow her passion for design. She went back to school at FIT where she earned a degree in interior design and then went on to launch Ishka Designs. An entrepreneur, savvy business woman and natural design talent, Anishka is an empowering female force in the design industry!
Niya brings a wealth of talent to Ishka Designs – years in the film industry doing set design, an amazing eye for photography learned from 15+ years shooting celebrities, products and interiors, and a stint at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens honing his love for landscape design. An avid biker, Niya competes each year in NYC’s Century bike tour, a 100-mile urban bike ride like no other!
What Ishka Designs is Most Excited for at High Point Market 2017: “Finding the unexpected!”
WOODSON & RUMMERFIELD’S HOUSE OF DESIGN
Named one of Hollywood’s Top 20 Interior Designers by The Hollywood Reporter, Woodson & Rummerfield’s House of Design is renowned for their glamorous, high-style and artful interiors. The Los Angeles-based firm’s co-owners Ron Woodson and Jamie Rummerfield are true California style makers and masters of pairing noteworthy furniture, art, and textiles and mixing old with new.
In Woodson & Rummerfield’s Words: “We aim to be the consummate designers for first class interiors filled with beauty, provenance and the comforts of luxury living.”
Inside Ron and Jamie’s World: Growing up with parents in the music industry in LA, Ron was exposed to the homes of many tastemakers. He attended UCLA’s school of Interior Design and has been in the design industry for over 15 years. One of his biggest inspirations and passions is travel – he has visited more than 30 countries to date!
Jamie has a passion for the glamour of the silver screen and the romantic bygone eras of film. She has a BS in Design from Arizona State’s prestigious College of Architecture, an intuitive sense for color, texture, balance and scale, and a signature California sensibility.
What Woodson & Rummerfield’s House of Design is Most Excited for at High Point Market 2017: “We are excited to come to High Point for many reasons. Each market we see the latest and greatest from the top furniture manufacturers worldwide. This fall market we are returning as Style Spotters and it is so great to see old friends, trusted vendors and source incredible new furnishings from lighting, rugs and all items for the home.
High point wouldn’t be the same if we did not visit the Antique Center and shop for one-of-a-kind treasures. But most of all we are so excited to be hosting a Designer Karaoke party on Sunday night October 15th at French Heritage to benefit the nonprofit Save Iconic Architecture and put a spotlight on architectural preservation awareness.”

PARKER KENNEDY LIVING
With a focus on high-end residential interior design, vintage furniture restoration and product development, Lance Jackson and David Ecton of Parker Kennedy Living are masters of creating interiors rooted in tradition but with a fresh updated flair!
In Parker Kennedy’s Words: “Preppy on the Edge”
Inside Lance and David’s World: A SCAD graduate Lance honed his interior design skills while working for a number of big-name Atlanta-based architectural firms and in furniture product development before deciding it was time to create his own brand and keep his hand in the product design industry.
David’s fascination with architecture stems from his studies in Venice where he was involved in the excavation of an ancient Etruscan ruin and saw firsthand how one’s space affects the way one lives. With a background and MBA in international trade David first explored his creative side while working as a graphic designer during graduate school. Prior to founding Parker Kennedy with Lance, David was the Marketing Director for an IT firm where he was able to utilize his creative talent while learning about the evolving technology market.
What Parker Kennedy is Most Excited for at High Point Market 2017: “RESOURCES! As we mature/ build our business we are always looking for new resources. Sometimes we revisit old manufactures to be reminded what they have. It also gives us a chance to look at what is new and get inspired.”
CLOTH & KIND
Curators and storytellers at their core, Cloth & Kind founders Tami Ramsay and Krista Nye Nicholas create magical residential and commercial interiors which tell stories through a splendid mixture of layers, textures, art and always a fabulous assortment of textiles and one-of-a-kind finds!
In Cloth & Kind’s Words: “Curated interior design with history and heart, with story and substance.”
Inside Tami and Krista’s World: Both Tami and Krista were inspired as children by their international travels and the beauty of the natural world. The meanings and stories held by objects became central to their individual visions for the spaces containing such objects. Their shared stories and passions led them to each other and the founding of Cloth & Kind! With offices in Ann Arbor, Michigan (Krista’s hometown) and Athens, Georgia (Tami’s hometown) they are masters of remote collaboration!
What Cloth & Kind is Most Excited for at High Point Market 2017: Slammed with a MAJOR project installation and SO much they are looking forward to at High Point Cloth & Kind was not able to nail down what exactly they are Most excited about, but from what I know about this duo they are sure to be inspired by any new and innovative textiles and one-of-a-kind pieces they come across! And they will most definitely be using their keen eyes for style to spot some fabulous designs!
In 2013, Michelle Jennings Wiebe of the Florida-based interior design firm Studio M was named top Style Spotter after taking on her duty to spot and share the shows top trends with a blazing force! Her knack for trend spotting combined with her knowledge of the industry and talent for public speaking landed her the role of Style Spotter Emeritus ever since.
With a passion for excellence, a knack for transforming any space into a functioning work of art and over twenty years of experience, Studio M is one of Florida’s top interior design firms and Michelle Jennings Wiebe is a true design connoisseur!
In Michelle’s Words: “I have always been intrigued with how light, colors, textures, and sound can influence a space. At Studio M, we strive to produce interiors that enliven your senses.”
Inside Michelle’s World: Michelle’s passion for design goes all the way back to her childhood. She loves to travel, hunt for real estate, exercise, read, and hang with her husband, children and Australian labradoodle Tagg!
What Michelle is Most Excited for at High Point Market 2017: “My speaking gig on “Design Fees Uncorked” at Universal Furniture on Saturday Oct. 14th at 1:30 pm. I really enjoy presenting various design, business, and social media topics. Apparently this one has limited seats left…almost sold out!
I also always enjoy hosting “Style Spotters LIVE!” on Tuesday October 17th at 9 am in the IHFC Ballroom 11th floor. This is where the 2017 Style Spotters will recap their best finds and trends from market, all over a delicious sit-down breakfast. This is always a favorite of mine!”
