Christian Dior, Spring 2013
More than a fashion show, Paris Fashion Week 2013 becomes a real factory to make all dreams come true. Raf Simons has recently presented a new collection from his post at Christian Dior. Below, KOKET gives you some style tips to take away from the fashion house’s spring 2013 couture offering, which hit the runway in Paris.
This was the third major Dior women’s wear collection by Raf Simons, who was appointed to the helm of Dior last year. The flowery fabrics and hand painted silks, with different colors, were the fashion styles that transformed the runway of Paris into a real fairytale.
Simons’ strategy is a sharp contrast to the one of his predecessor, John Galliano. The last technique to keep the name Dior on the top was the presentation of the fashion collection with independent pieces. Simons however, is taking the opposite approach: each collection features details that tell Dior’s charming story.
It’s all about your shape. Christian Dior’s signature curve-enhancing gowns and cocktail dresses encourage women to play up their natural shape. One word: AMAZING!
Your menswear moment: killer-chic. The narrow cuts and flashy fabrics of traditional matador uniforms were made for a cocktail party or night out. A style that will distinguish you from the rest of the world.
Dior is aimed at a female audience, modern, and above all, that values the class. The architectural lines of the Bar jacket Dior and other key pieces are an example of a class that is repeated once again in this show. A chic recipe: mix black and pastel colors. Not only does this color combo feels fresh, it’s also an easy way to make the transition from winter into spring.
Personalities like Sigourney Weaver, Rosamund Pike and Jessica Alba couldn’t have missed this fashion event. Valérie Trierweiler and Bernadette Chirac also marked their position on the show.
